Our U13s in particular were a revelation, with many year 6 athletes competing for the very first time. Quite a few of them turned up for their usual Sunday session, only to be asked if they wanted to compete later that day; quite a few proceeded to take part and did well – very well!
A massive thank you to all club athletes who took part and made this day what it was – an enjoyable and successful day.
A special thank you to our newly qualified Level 2 officials who helped us get this event on, James Nowak for doing the scoring and also other parents who helped with things like Tea Tent rota, Non-score number allocation and general assistance with the team – many hands make light work and all that…
Lastly I want to remind everyone of the tireless efforts (and thought and care) put into this successful day, by some of our longer standing stalwarts: Sue Smith (officiating lead), Lynn Milner (our club chair) & Tim Higman (coach) and also the behind scenes support I always get from Peter Poulain (our club vice chair) who picks up the phone to me almost daily, in the run up these matches and helps me with planning and ideas for the match.
REMEMBER our next match is Sunday 11th May in Peterborough – couch will be leaving from Westminster Lodge, details to follow.
