We fielded a reasonable size team (around 45 athletes) and in spite of a number of minor mishaps around the time table (which ran behind) we managed to challenge the other teams very well and made our presence know as a club to be taken seriously at these matches.
As a side we continue to be challenged with getting a full middle distance team out to these athletic matches - as in the previous match our U13 boys team had no middle distance runners at all taking part, like wise with the U17M; so if you know any U13 boys (Y6 & Y7) or U17m(Y10 & Y11) who enjoy 800m or 1500m please let them know they are very welcome to come along to these matches and help the club overall as a team at these matches. Else ware we challenged really well in the sprints, jumps (both horizontal and vertical) and most of the throwing events.
Another special thank you to those parents who helped on the day with field and track officiating (as a team we gain extra points for turning up with a small team of officials, and of course these events could not happen without each club contributing a team of helpers and officials to run each of the events.)
Our next EYAL match (round 5) is Sunday 3rd August in Peterborough – further details will follow
