For those entered into this event, you will some one pagers in the Cross country area of the Fixtures giving all the details of events, timings, course map, and location of Fairlands Valley Park. Just to wish you all a happy christmas and to let you know that the track is closed at dusk from Saturday 24th -Tuesday 3rd Jan so there will be no club sessions. For those of you eager to maintain your fitness for the Herts X country on the 8th January we have arranged 4 sessions. 9.30am Saturday 24th and 31st December at the swings in the park 10am -Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th December in the car park at the track and jog over to the same area . I need to enter anyone who would like to take part in the County,Southern and National Championships. - County Champs - 8th Jan 2012 - Stevenage cost £4 - Southerns 28th Jan 2012 - Brighton cost £6 - Nationals 25th Feb 2012 Hampstead Cost £6 (Links to websites for the above are on the Fixtures page) Any questions let me know if not put entry fees in an envelope asap as cut off date approaching fast. All of these events are great fun and suitable for a large range of abilities. Under 11 can only do the County champs. Many of you will not know that while we were running in St Albans, 6 of our under 13 girls were taking part in the national final of the English Schools Cup. This is a team event and St Albans Girls school junior had qualified for the final in Rugby. They were rewarded by aiming high and came away with a national bronze medal. The team was Tabitha Weddell, Alex Bentley, Georgia Robin, Jess Barnes, Lucy Day, Susie Williams. Well done all Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make our first home fixture with St Albans Striders so successful. The officiating,marshalling,organisation and the refreshments were perfect. Excellent results and well done to all our debutants!! Remember to get your envelopes with race entry money in to me next week. We all missed Jack Gentle so get well soon. This Saturday will be our joint home fixture with the Striders. Will be great to have the home advantage and really show the other teams what great clubs we are. Everyone is welcome to run and offer support. We will be putting the tents up at 9.30 with the first race starting as usual at 11.30. All the details on chilternccl.co.uk . Meet by our flag an hour if possible before your race. Spikes will be an advantage, if you need to borrow let me know any other questions email me or see me at the track. Lets hope for good weather. St Albans Striders and St Albans Athletics Club are co-hosting the third fixture at Verulamium Park, St Albans on Saturday 3rd Dec 2011. We urgently need volunteers for setup and marshalling.
